Pumpkin Milk Drink

1 cup low-fat or nonfat milk (or soy milk, rice milk, or almond milk)
1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree
1/4 teaspoon caramel extract
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cardamom
1/4 teaspoon mace
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
2 tablespoons ground golden flaxseeds
A few ice cubes


In a blender, mix all the ingredients. Divide among two glasses and serve immediately.
Comments: The more ice, the more liquid.
Option: For those who like coffee like I do, I add an espresso shot to mine. You can also heat up the drink for those cold mornings!

Option: You may substitute all the spices with 1 tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice.

Yield: 2 servings
