Yogurt Apple Delight


1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
1/4 teaspoon caramel extract
1 apple
2 tablespoon crushed walnuts or pecans
2 tablespoons ground golden flaxseeds
2 tablespoon maple syrup (you may substitute agave nectar)


Mix the caramel extract with the yogurt.
Peel, core, and dice the apple. In 2 narrow glasses, pour 1/4 cup of yogurt in each glass. Top with the apple, nuts, and flaxseeds. Add remaining yogurt and drizzle the maple syrup. Refrigerate and serve cold.

Yield: 4 servings
